Parachute
Jigs
Parachutes along
with bucktails are considered one
of the most effective lures when
trolling for stripers. They can be
used with any number of soft
plastic baits. The most popular
being the Shad in just about any
color. They can also be used with
some of the popular pork tails,
skirts and strips. They perform
well surf and jetty casting due to
their substantial weight. They
work great when trolled by
themselves or as part of a tandem
rig and can be jigged when
trolling to resemble a crippled
baitfish.
On most
of the lines on my boat
I run a heavier
parachute or bucktail on
the short drop, and
either a lighter jig or
spoon chasing a 6-pak on
the longer line. Click

line layout.
